What inspired you to get into the financial advice industry?

I have worked in financial services for 6 years now, previously for an investment platform covering roles in operations, investments & business development. Due to the nature of the role, I was heavily exposed to the brilliant work that financial advisors do for their clients (incidentally a lot of these people were working at Humboldt!) and this inspired me to get involved and help people with their financial planning & retirement goals.

What’s your favourite part of working with clients?

The fact that every client has unique circumstances, goals and views on the world. I really enjoy getting to know people on a deeper level to understand what it is they want to achieve in life and then providing them with the financial plan to achieve their goals and aspirations. The best feeling in the world is seeing someone you have worked with going on to buy their dream home or taking their once-in-a-lifetime holiday due to the work we have put in place.

Is there a unique approach or perspective that sets you apart?

Focusing on the clients’ goals and aspirations and not products/services. A brilliant financial planner does exactly that, plan!
